Exploring the Universe Through the Lens

Yes, even your friendly contractor has a hobby! Astro photography is a passion that combines technical precision, patience, and an appreciation for the cosmos. At AKADATA, we capture stunning celestial objects and make them available for sale as high-quality prints and digital downloads.
The Tools of the Trade
To achieve breathtaking astrophotography results, one relies on advanced tools and equipment, including:
- Cameras: ZWO ASI294MM and the ZWO ASI6200MC Pro full-frame camera for high-resolution deep-sky imaging.
- Filters: when using the 294 we use a 2" Filter wheel with SII, HA, OIII, UVIR filters, and when using the 6200 we use a 3nm quad band filter.
- Telescope: William Optics FLT91 with a focal reducer for sharp, wide-field astrophotography.
- Mount: Sky-Watcher HEQ5-PRO with a Rowan belt mod and precision tuning to ensure smooth and accurate tracking.
- Software:
- N.I.N.A (Nighttime Imaging ‘N’ Astronomy) – For automated imaging and deep-sky object tracking.
- ASTAP (Astrometric Stacking Program) – Essential for plate-solving and accurate alignment.
- PHD2 – Precision star tracking and guiding to ensure clear, long-exposure images.
- PixInsight – A powerful image processing software designed specifically for astrophotography. It offers advanced tools for calibration, stacking, noise reduction, and deep-sky image enhancement, allowing for precise control over every aspect of the final image.
Featured Celestial Objects
I specialize in capturing some of the most stunning deep-space objects, including:
M42 - The Orion Nebula
One of the most famous and visually striking nebulae in the night sky, M42 is a vast cloud of gas and dust where new stars are born, below is some early work

The North American Nebula
A stunning emission nebula that resembles the shape of North America, offering intricate details and glowing hydrogen regions.

The Veil Nebula
A breathtaking supernova remnant featuring delicate filamentary structures of ionized gas. Captured with the ZWO6200 MC Pro and a 3nm quad band filter, this image reveals the intricate details of the expanding shockwave from an ancient stellar explosion.

The Moon
Our nearest celestial neighbor, captured in incredible detail, revealing craters, mountains, and the play of light and shadow across its surface.
